Running for St Lucy's
Story
I am taking part in the 2016 Melbourne Marathon and hoping to raise much needed funds towards my charity, St Lucy's School.
St Lucy’s School, based in Wahroonga, is a dedicated primary school for students with intellectual disabilities of a severity that preclude them being taught in mainstream classes. Over 70% of students are on the autism spectrum, 95% of students have communication difficulties and many have multiple disabilities with complex medical needs. St Lucy's provides excellence in education that empowers students with the values, knowledge, attitudes and skills to flourish and participate fully in society. At St Lucy’s, each child is viewed individually in order to unlock their unique potential and to encourage them to become independent.
As many of you know, I'm no runner, but with the kids I mind I have made some big inroads towards my new found fitness.
I have been training hard, having already completed the Gold Coast half marathon (in a time of 2hrs:16min) and looking forward to achieving my ultimate goal.
Thank you for your support and know that your donation will make an impact!
Regards
Mark
